Frustrated. My knee became sore during week5 run 1. I think it was due to having sore ankle and running awkwardly. My own fault but was determined to finish the run.
It’s a week now and still sore on front inner side of knee, really want to run but scared I’ll do more damage. Any advice?

I have a similar issue (maybe) which I picked up in week 2 run 2. I’m fine when walking but when running my knee is very sore. I noticed some experienced guys around me are running on grass rather than pavement; I’m going to try that. Good luck!
My knee was sore in different place when I started but switched to running in my vivobarefoot trainers and no pain since, until this episode. I have heard that running on grass is less impact than concrete but most my running so far is in the gym. Good luck with your running.
The guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... has advice on minimising impact, stretching after every, knee strengthening exercises and dealing with injury.
If it's still sore in the same place than make sure you recover fully before running again. If it stubbornly persists, go see a sports physio. l did neither and my knee got inflamed and ballooned so that was me done for over three months. l am not saying yours is anywhere near as bad as mine, l am not a doctor and do not want to scare you, but I'm giving you an example of what happened to someone who ignored every warning sign given and kept running first through discomfort and then through pain.
Thanks. There isn’t any swelling that I can see, just a sharp pain when it straightens out. Feels like it’s catching something. Trying to be very patient but really want to run, I’m worried I will lose all my progress.
You only lose if you get injured. Swelling comes when you get injured properly, you are only experiencing warning signals. I got injured into W3 and started the program again once it healed. Managed to complete it and then, having learned nothing at all from my previous painful and expensive (physio therapy) experience, l got injured again (ankle), equally if not worse and more painful. Cue another three plus months on the sidelines and therapies. I was an absolute moron. Of course, l repeated the whole course again from scratch. Then and only then did l learn how to look after myself and take care of my body. Never, ever, do what l did. l listened to nobody, knew everything. Like self obsessed idiots do. Never again! Plenty of great people and advice on this forum to help us out.
I wear a light knee support (from chemist) as I have a long-term weakish left knee. The running has made it no worse so I guess the support has helped.
