completed week3 in garden of holiday cottage we staying in watched by captive audience of sheep. Found it hard but did it so feeling positive. Trying to take each run at a time and not look too far ahead as at the minute I simply cannot envisage being able to run more than 5 minutes let alone 5k but ran 3 mins tday which I couldnt do 3 weeks ago🤔

Well done! It really gives you a boost, doesn't it? Bet the sheep were very interested, nosy creatures!

Dont think they have come across many middle aged ladies staggering/jogging up n down the length of garden next to their field😂

Yes you're right focus on the run you're doing on the day not weeks down the line , but the training you're putting in the now will get you to the end good luck 😊😊

I bet those 🐑 sheep enjoyed the site of you running run 3 of week 3 of C25K. Meh, they would be saying to each other ' isn't that lady do so well running up and down that garden, for the winter I am going to give her a big sheepskin jumper". 😊 Well done notquiteretired, onwards and upwards to week 4.

you will I have and I was actually gasping for breath on week one, so little steps and you are right just concentrate on what you have achieved to date. A good piece of advice another runner told me was think about your actual running mins and add then together and then you will realise just how long you spent actually jogging...the next week running time does not seem so daunting keeo on goingxx

Don’t worry about the 5k, just focus on the minutes of running. The name Couch to 5k is a bit misleading as most don’t get to 5k, but they do get to running for 30 minutes. I graduated 3 n a half weeks ago n my best run so far has been 1.47 miles (2.35k), not even half of 5k. BUT I can run for 30 minutes and yesterday when my fit 15 year old decided to run with me, she took off into the distance with her gazelle-like pace n only managed to run 5 minutes twice before she had to stop n walk the rest. It’s not the distance you’re running but the stamina you’re building that’s important so just follow the programme n in a few weeks when you graduate you’ll be astounded at what you’ve achieved 😊

Hope so, I can’t believe I will ever run for 30 minutes at this moment in time but like you say you build up to it. Bet your 15 year old was a bit miffed you running and them having to walk🤣

Well done for completing the programme

Thanks! It was definitely an object lesson in listening to the person who actually knows a bit about running lol, but actually she was ok about it. It did give her a new appreciation of what I’m doing though n she now plans to start from the beginning, which I what I’d suggested 😂😂

Running is all about mindset so perhaps rather than saying you can’t believe you’ll ever run for 30 minutes, maybe it time to say ’I trust the programme and if others have run for 30 minutes by following it, then I’ll be able to as well’ 😉

Well done notquiteretired. The c25k plan is brilliant and it works. Inspired by my graduation, my daughter graduated a few weeks ago and my brother is finishing week 6 today. All three of us said at that point "cant believe I'm running 25 minutes when only a few weeks ago I could just manage a minute!" So dont look ahead just enjoy and be amazed by what you are doing. Every run and every week prepares you for the next. Trust the paln and keep it slow and steady at all times. good luck and enjoy your running

Thanks for the encouragement and advice much appreciated. At the present time I am more or less doing the plan in secret just incase I cant do it but each run accomplished helps me think maybe I can atleast make it to the next week🤔
