Yes it is all in the mind when you look to the next week and see that that runs are longer maybe with shorter walks. I won't complete this in 9 weeks as I've had to repeat a few runs which I'm doing now on wk6r3 so keep going you can do it good luck
Hi Farmrunner, congratulations on persevering for 3 weeks. I am in week 6. I had three heart operations earlier this year, and have not done any conscious exercise for 40 years. Now with T2D I decided to try to fight it without medicine, so am using couch25k as the delivery mechanism for the exercise. I am managing to keep up with the program, and yes it is psychological. We don't believe we can be as good as the rest, but the program has been developed by many people far cleverer than you and I about exercise, diet and psychology. Week 5 will amaze you. How about this? Whether you think you will or you think you won't, you will be right.
You can do it ! We’re all behind you here ! If you find you can’t quite do it immediately, that’s ok. If you watch time lapse film of flowers opening or plants growing, you’ll see it’s not a steady process: it goes in hiccups, now pulling back, now pushing on. Developing fitness is like that too, which is why the programme includes a repeat function. If it takes a few attempts to beat it completely that’s fine. Remember the First Rule of C25k: the only run you fail is the run you don’t go for ! Happy running x
