I’m home. I’ve done my stretches. My Apple Watch confirms I’m not having a heart attack.
The third rep was the hardest I wanted to tell the voice over to fuckity off but I did it. I missed the last ten seconds of the 7th rep because my husband called as our toddler was having a meltdown and I had to head home. Meaning my five minute warm down was done walking round the garden bouncing a screaming kid whose refusing to sleep.
My face matches my pants and my beagles copied my stretches which made me laugh.
Also did anyone else have problems with the Sarah Milican voice over? It kept glitching so I swapped it to the Laura one and that was fine.

Great! Getting out for the first run is definitely psychologically the hardest bit. I sympathise with the business of fitting it in and around a toddler. It’s not easy! I’ve had a few interruption phone calls like that too 😂😂 You get there in the end. I’m also hoping to be fitter to chase endlessly round after my toddler as he grows. Good luck with your journey. I’ve grown to seriously enjoy it, which has been a real surprise!
I knew if I went out before he was asleep I’d get a call but I’d gotten it in my head and didn’t want to give myself chance to back out so I went anyway. Its hard finding time to not be “mum”! So easy to use that as a reason which is what I’ve been doing for too long. I’ll be surprised if I ever love running but if I can enjoy and manage it well then I’ll be happy 😁
Well done! Your post made me laugh, what with the not a heart attack, the dog mimic, the toddler drama and telling the voiceover where to go 🤣 I can imagine creating me-time and working around a small unreasonable creature with anger management issues is a problem for all mothers, running or not. But well done you for being determined and getting out there. It does get easier - some runs are tough and others are brilliant. The main thing is to take it slow. You might find walkers overtaking you and that’s totally ok. You will probably love running by the end. Keep posting
My dog hates my stretching, barks like crazy. Well done. Toughest week. I switched to Jo..never liked her before but love her now. I still listen to her now haha. Rest days are really important, I needed two. So my weeks has an extra day.
This is hilarious! I have the same issue with two little dictators, a patterdale pooch and an annoying husband 😂 but I did my w1r1 yesterday as well and it was great.felt amazing! House was chaos but I was out 30 mins. I took my pooch with me, she enjoyed the running bit. I jogged in the spot when I was waiting for her to do her business. She probably thinking what an earth are you doing human, ive never seen you run before 😂
I’m building up to w1r2 hopefully tomorrow but I’m finding I’m much more sore today on day 2 after my run than I was yesterday! How’s your recovery day?
🤣 so funny! Well I normally walk her so I wasn’t doing a run thing and then going back out to walk her, so she had to stay in check! Oh I am sore today, just aching all over?! Feels like my body is 70 years not 36! My mind is feeling sharp and there is a niggle that i want to go today! But planning on tomorrow after work. We can do this!
