JUST COMPLETED DAY 1!

I’ve always felt pretty disheartened whenever I’ve tried to run before. I’ve always been pretty slow and tend to compare myself to my friends who are able to run a 5k under 25 minutes. But enough is enough. I’ve decided to honour my body where it’s at. I am a beginner and everyone has to start somewhere. Really excited to be part of this community. Is there anything you wish you’d known before you started? Any one want to share their progress?! Anyone else just starting out?! Am going to have a big juicy scroll through everyone’s posts but if there’s anything you’d like to share with me about your experience to get me even more excited that would be so amazing! Thankyou ❤️

I've just completed my first week 2 run and like you have never run before, I think I'm enjoying it 🤣

Eee congrats! Can you feel any improvement already?! Think I’m the type of person who wants results immediately 😂 guess just need to try my best and trust the process!

running for 90 seconds was much harder than 60 but I did notice the difference when I was cycling up a hill so must be working a bit.

Well done on getting started.

I’ve just completed my first run of week 4 and it feel crazy to say this but I’m enjoying it.

I was advised to take it slow, when I started and it’s really helped me to progress each week. Also drink lots of water to fend off heavy legs.

I too have friends who are good runners and have always felt like an outsider. With this course I now understand what all the fuss is about. All the best for the rest of the course.

Welcome to the forum and C25K Lucyy2019, it's exactly a year ago this week that I ran run 1 week 1 of C25K and graduated 9 weeks later. I wish you all the best for your running journey, remember although the course is 9 weeks you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish, if you have any problems just post a message and someone maybe able to help you but if it's a medical issue ask a professional like a nurse or doctor.

I completed W8R1 this morning, I’m 49 and haven’t run since school.. I’m already contemplating my next steps after I graduate from C25K. I’m loving my new running life, I think I’m hooked! I’ve had a bad run but I still wanted to go out and do my next run. Just go slow and steady, no bouncing. If you feel you’re running out of steam, just slow down but keep moving. You got this 😊

I wish I had known that this programme is brilliant and that it works for all those people who commit to it👍🏃🏾‍♀️👍

It’s going to be great😊

Congratulations on starting C25K! I hope you love it as I do! It’s been one of the best choices I’ve made, to do this program. I’m fitter, happier and just love running. I would NEVER have thought of myself as a runner but it’s brilliant and have now done my first 5K which felt like such a huge achievement for me. Everyone says it and it’s true - don’t go to fast. Take rest days. Make sure you have got good trainers and even go to a running shop for a gait test. The first few weeks were the hardest for me personally but when struggling just keep telling yourself - one foot in front of the other - keep going and you’ll be able to do it. Some people repeat weeks too if they feel it will help. But your fitness levels really do increase and you will feel amazing for it! Best of luck on your journey and keep posting! X

I’ve just finished the last run of week 8 and have got 3 more runs to do.

Well done on getting started. The first week (for me at least) was the hardest. You will be amazed at the progress you make as each week comes and goes.
