Day 1 just starting out

Went for my first run off the program yesterday and felt great to get started on couch to 5k. Makes such a difference having someone in my ear telling me when to run and when to start walking. I've only ever used my watch before but was distracting having to keep checking the time. I've always been a sporadic runner doing for couple of weeks then not doing for months and have never been able to run more than 5 mins without walking so am really hoping that following this will help.

Stick to the plan and before you know it you'll be running for half an hour or more! Good luck 😃

Wow, just followed your link and was just the advice I needed to read. Especially useful for me was about pace. About 2 years ago I joined a running class for a short while but it was such a mix of abilities with newbies running along with others preparing for marathons. Although the sessions were adapted so that we weren't running the same distance there were a lot of times we were running along side each other which meant I found myself running at a pace much faster than I was accustomed to. Shortly after the course I developed a pain in my outer thigh whenever I ran and it really put me off running. This time I'm determined to build up gradually. Thanks so much for the advice.

Build your stamina and strength slowly and steadily and your body is far less likely to let you down.
