I've found w6 r1 and r2 tough but not because of the running sections, it's the walking sections that are tough. I just want to keep running, anyone else felt the same?
Also I have brought some running shoes, first run in them today. I have been running in my walking boots up to now and i think my foot placement needs work😁🚶♀️

It’s great to be getting the running highs but take it slow and steady and stick with the program to avoid injury. Pleased to hear you’ve got the.right shoes for the job. The right kit helps and buying new bits as a reward helps to keep you motivated. 👍🏻👏🏻
I did to begin with but my two black labs didn’t stick with the program and wanted to stop and sniff various places. I nearly tripped over one once so I decided to cut the risk of injury and take them out after. 🙄
A lot of people struggle with the return to intervals after the w5 run, but trust the programme, W6 is preparing you for longer runs. The good news is as you’ve completed w6r2 there are no more intervals, just running!
Yes I felt annoyed at the last few walking sections after the 20 minute run but just go with the flow - I’m sure there is a reason for it. I’ve just bought running shoes too! It took a couple of runs to make friends with them but we are about there now. 😊
Thanks, I'm glad I'm not alone in the annoyance department.
Shoes are comfy so far but will have to work on foot placement, I went for trail shoes because I run on rough ground and grass. I'm hoping a couple of runs should do the trick.
I’m just back from run 3 of week 6, I hated run 1, it was definitely my worst run to date, run 2 slightly better but I was frustrated because I wanted to keep going and found the walks annoying! Pleased to see the back of week 6!
I found W6R2 to be one of the hardest runs in the C25K so you're not alone. I found the walking section really interrupted my concentration and it was difficult to get back into a good rhythm for the second 10 minute run. I ended up repeating W6R2 about three times because I thought I needed to find it easier before moving onto the next run, however, upon reading other people's posts on the forum I realised that most people felt the same about going back to interval running. The main thing is that you've completed the interval training part now and I hope the new running shoes make a difference today!
