Week 6 run 2 - felt like I was going to smash this run (!) but alas the stars were not aligned for this one. First 10 was really tough. Honestly feel like I'm getting worse at running which I realise can't be true, but does feel that way!

Anyway, just starting my second run and an older guy starts wobbling past me on his bike and promptly falls off (very gently) right in front of me! So I obviously stop to see if he's ok. Long story short I end up walking with him half the way home while he tells my his life story! Poor guy was having a bad day and needed someone to talk to I think. By the time we parted ways there was only a short part of my route left, so I ran for a few more minutes (and much faster I might add - that run felt so easy comparatively!) and that was me.

So I guess I'd better repeat that run!!

Oh, what bad luck! You could hardly leave him. Hopefully when you do that run again, the stars will align and you will smash it! You didn’t really have any choice with this one. There’s always another day πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Yeah it's hard to feel too bothered about the run when he was having a much worse time than me in the grand scheme of things. I'll chalk that up to a practice run! Maybe I'll have finished the program by Christmas?🀞🏼

πŸ˜€ I’m sure we will both finish before then, but even if it took that long, it wouldn’t matter! As long as we keep running.

Wow !

That's a shame ! (For both of you )

But I guess, what else could you do !

I say give yourself huge congratulations for doing the right thing !

Yes, it's frustrating if you have to repeat a run , especially if it wasn't your problem.

I know as I had to repeat W2R2 (I think it was) because my old trainers fell apart .

I was furious for days !! πŸ˜‚

I'm sure you will nail it next time ! πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸƒ

I think the stars aligned for the chap you helped. Well done for running and for coming to the aide of a fellow human being. We need more and more of this. Particularly the talking to people having a bad time.

Think of that run as a practice for the real run. And if there is such a thing as karma then you got some goodies coming πŸ˜€πŸ‘

Good Samaritans are forgiven for bailing out of a run......well done.

Those first ten minutes are tough for all runners, explained here healthunlocked.com/couchto5... so just keep it nice and slow.

Thank you, I read that post the other day actually, it's good to know. Wouldn't it be nice to skip past that feeling, as the final part of my run felt amazing! πŸ˜‚

Oh that did make me laugh, at least you didn’t treat the bike as a big hurdle!

Good deeds come back around and that man will have been so grateful of the compassion you showed, good for you.

Nothing wrong with a practice run, you’ll nail it next time.
