Wk9 r2 beetroot face !

had a good but tough wk9r2 this morning, should have done it yesterday evening but struggled to get motivated. Noticed on my last run my beetroot face didn't make an appearance until about 13 mins in, today I felt my face begin to turn red and checked my watch, 29 minutes and 29 seconds in! I don't know if that means my fitness I improving, or if it was just colder this morning although I was running into the sun for quite a bit! Managed to do a pb (according to edmondo) of 5k in 32.52 but I did start walking right after that when I have been going up to 36 mins on some runs! Slightly nervous about my graduation run but hopefully will get my shiny badge on Monday!

Well done. I've not run beyond 30 mins yet or to the 5k distance. That's something to work on when I get home.

you've done well to keep it up during your trip, and have had amazing experiences running in new places! Best of wishes with your post grad running !

Well done! Two things, 1. I have been known to 'glow' fairly well, always a bit concerned about red t-shirts as you wouldn't see where my neck/head started and the t-shirt ended 😄, anyway I have come to the conclusion I have an efficient heat conduction system which just happens to use my face, am I bothered? No 😄

2. You have mentioned parkrun as a target after graduating - the mistake I made was exactly that, I love parkrun, everyone is welcome at parkrun, being able to 'run' 5k is not a pre requisite- go as soon as you can, I promise you will love it and wish you had gone ages ago!

Happy graduation day on Monday, you're going to smash it!  (By the way you're pretty speedy too)

haha thanks, I don't mind what I look like either, just wish my red face didn't clash with the pink flashes on my running stuff! Been wanting to try a parkrun for a while, just need to be brave and do it! Maybe next Saturday if I don't make any more excuses!

Go for it!  I wish I had gone along sooner.  You'll have a great time (and be amazed at how soon you start running past people who dash off at a sprint and are walking within a couple of minutes!)  Running 5k in 32 mins sounds like you might need to re-think your forum name, too!  More like a thouroughbred at that speed!!
