It took 5 months but I've graduated today

I started in October but took some breaks, for no particular reason, other than holidays. I was surprised how easy it was to get back into it. Week 9 run 3 was scheduled today but as it was raining this morning I kept putting it off. Eventually did it late afternoon and feel thrilled now. Not a fast pace 7.46 which meant I only did 3.20 km but I can build up on that now. I never thought that at 61 years I would be able to run for 30 minutes as I was never really very sporty. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my knees 10 years ago but it really hasn't been a problem. I wear light supports on my knees and I haven't noticed any pain although I am very conscious to keep my feet close to the ground so there is not so much impact on my joints. Good luck to fellow runners and don't give up.

Many congratulations on your graduation fellow runner.

This guide to post C25K running may be helpful healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Keep running, keep smiling.

Well done Runningqueen! I’m the same age as you and never thought I’d enjoy this running lark! Did my W9 R1 today and a young mum told her child to move to one side to let the runner pass - the little girl said ‘she’s not running!’ I am so slow it must look like a walk!

Never mind will keep plodding on!

Congratulations to you as well. I think sometimes I look as though I am shuffling along! The Japanese have a type of slow running called niko niko which literally means smile. This enables them to do long distances.
