Week 5 run 3 another post!

This is the first time I write here even if I have been following this forum a lot. I did today the week 5 run 3. I ve been terrified of it to the point of repiting days of the weeks just to prepare for it. Its done, it was challenging but good. Question is, from now on, how did you find the rest of the weeks untill completition? I cant see myself running 25 min after week 6? 20 min took a lot of mental prep already.

Congratulations on completing the 20 minutes run!! That is a big one and you must be feeling so proud. Glad you decided to post, as you may know by now it is a very helpful place for loads of advice and encouragement.

Regarding running for 25 mins, you will run it the exact same way you ran 20 - by sticking to the plan and trusting yourself. I did 25 mins on Mon (w6r3), and I am off to do one now. It is challenging, but doable. Do go slow if you feel the effort to be too much, and drink plenty of water the previous day. Good luck and keep us posted of your progress!!

You really don't need to worry so much (I was also a great one for worrying about each week!) The thing is, the programme has been carefully designed to take you from the couch to 30 minutes running in 9 weeks- and it does just that! All you need to do is trust in this, and do the runs as instructed. Thousands have done this before you, so there's no reason to doubt that you will too!

Hi and well done on your run! This is my next run and I’ve been wondering if it is correct, as in a 20mins run already after just doing. 2x16? But you’ve helped answer this for me with your post .

Personally I found it difficult going back to the intervals in week 6 after the 20min run. I started to enjoy the program more on week 7 because I could keep going without breaking my pace.

The mental barrier is harder than the run.

If I tell you that three years ago.. I thought I may collapse on Run 1..and this Sunday last..I ran my first HM..at aged 68..will that prove to you, that you can and will do every run and every week and you will be fine..

Take it slow...take it steady...trust the plan..believe in yourself..and..know you will do it..😉 You're awesome..you are running!!

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and I would recommend following the link to the post about mental approach.

Each week is tough if you push too hard..........each week is much easier if you keep a comfortable easy pace.

You can do this.

Enjoy your journey.
