So today I took my first ever run.. I couldn't do the whole 8 mins. I did try but everything hurt 😫 .I am hoping the next one will be a bit easier... It's really hard.. the one thing I did wrong is I didn't plan my route correct.. so I ended up with lots of uphill.. which tired me out sooner I guess.
1st ever run: So today I took my first ever run... - Couch to 5K
1st ever run
Uphill makes a major difference, I made that mistake on week 2. Stuck to the same flat route since and it’s been much better. Well done on getting out there - it’s really hard but it’s amazing how quickly you improve!
Try and find a flatter route then repeat this run again you can do this😊
Just about to go out for my first run and learning from your experience as I live in a really hilly area. Nervous but have to start somewhere...here goes!
Congratulations on starting C25K and welcome to the forum, you have passed the first test by getting off the couch, run 1 some say is the hardest part of the course, I found week 2 easier, persevere and I am sure you will settle down and find the other runs better, run them a bit slower than you did today, also find a flatter route for run 2.
Every run is a lesson. I had a couple of wadrobe malfunctions on my early attempts. But we learn and get better.
Think 🐢 not 🐇 and next time will be better 😉
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and explains the easy conversational pace and how to minimise the impact of running.
Slow down.......... enjoy your journey.
