I went to Edinburgh during the week and whilst there bought a pair of proper running shoes as well as some proper running clothes (now I have to keep running to justify the cost lol). The shoes made a real difference. I had been running in a pair of old cheap supermarket trainers and was starting to feel the impact on my knees. But with these new shoes I had no pain at all in my knees. So I was feeling great on the first of the 8 minute runs (I’m on week 5). But then I turned round to come back and the 40mph wind hit me like a brick wall. I ran the whole 8 minutes although if I’d have gone any slower I would have been going backwards and was so glad when it was over. Now hoping that run 3 of week 5 will not be so windy. I hate running in the wind but living in Shetland it’s kind of hard not to.

💨...it will turn you in to such a strong runner!!! And what a beautiful place to run, too! Very wise to invest in the new shoes though - they do make such a difference. Good luck with the rest of the programme.🙂

Oh you made me chuckle, I guess in Shetland your are subject to fair amount of weather!
Can you set out into the wind? Then you get the benefit of being carried home on the way back 🤗
Glad the new shoes are working out for you 👍
