Hi all, last time I posted I was at the end of Week 7 and it was to ask advice about hip pain that threatened to stop my running. After reading your comments I went to get my gait tested, which turned out to be fine. When I was asked what shoes I was wearing and I replied 'size 3's out of the kids section' I was frowned at. Apparently kids shoes aren't appropriate for an adult when running πŸ˜‚ I really hadn't thought about it! Anyway, I bought a pair of last year's stock for half the price and yesterday, albeit a few days late, I completed week 8, and I was actually running like a 'proper' runner at times! My new shoes have made all the difference. The only problem is the app keeps stopping and I end up running longer lol! I'm really happy with my achievement so far, like others, I never thought I would be able to do it, especially being overweight, underfit and 50 ! One week left, but I won't stop there. Thanks for your help and motivation so far!

I really need to go and get my gait tested too. Since I graduated I’ve noticed niggles in my left leg - new shoes might make a difference for me too. Well done with your progress so far and very best of luck with week 9 - nearly there!!! πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Thanks so much! Who would have believed that new shoes would make such a difference! If I were you I'd definitely go and get tested! I'm already thinking about what to do once I've completed week 9.....it's mad really that your whole attitude to running can change so much in such a short period of time lol!

I know! I think about running all the time and have had to stop talking about it so much because I’ve realised I’ve become a running bore! πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚

Haha I worry if I think I can't keep to my schedule! I should have started week 9 yesterday but due to life, it's the first time I've been knocked off track and it's really bugged me lol! I've also been looking for a waterproof jacket for when the weather changes..... Think I've had a frontal lobotomy or something πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚

Thanks, I'm looking forward to it myself for some mad reason. I think having read posts from normal people in a similar situations to myself has helped me get this far ! πŸ‘
