I've been holding off on buying a proper pair of running shoes until I was certain this running lark is for me, up until now I've been running in the cheapest pair of Nike's that Sports Direct sell.
As I've completed Week 8 this afternoon and as an early graduation present I went to a proper running shop and had my gait analysed.
I suspected that I have a neutral gait and this was confirmed today in the shop.
After finding out I'm most comfortable in a half size bigger for running I tried on various neutral shoes, narrowed it down to three pairs then tried out all three on the treadmill.
I couldn't decide between a pair of Asics Gel Cumulus 17's or a pair of Saucony Ride 8's and ended up running on the treadmill with one on each foot.
This did the trick and I brought home the Ride 8's. I love them and can't wait until Sunday when I take them out for Week 9 Run 1.
Don't you just love a new pair of shoes π

I hope they give you wings, I had a gait analysis too, I over pronunciate especially on the right side and I've found my new shoes absolutely fab, my only thing is I really wanted pink trainers and they only had blue, but we can't have it all!
I have Saucony Kinvara but they are a bit lightweight in more ways than one. I sent my last pair back as the uppers wore out like lightening. I am racing in their replacement tomorrow. Light as air they are but cushioned well enough.
You'll get on with them really well I'm sure. It's like having nothing on your feet
What a sad person I am - I actually gave a little gasp when I saw those! (what has running done to me lol?) Those are gorgeous, proper super-hero shoes, and you will fly in them. Just be grateful you have neutral gait, or I would come and snatch them off your feet! XX
I love those!!! π I'm also waiting until graduation to buy a new pair of runners I can't wait. I have picked out the prettiest brightest pair that suit my gait analysis and can't wait to buy them βΊοΈ
