About to start week 6: week 5 was a bit of a shock and I am now seriously into 'mind over matter'. I used to run a bit a few years ago - did a half marathon in 2002. But I am now 55 and weigh 2 stone heavier, I went right back to the very beginning with the couch to 5k. To run 60 seconds had me almost screaming at Laura to call time!! Yet, here I am, staring week 6 in the face! I feel great at the end of each run but have a huge fear-factor regarding pain and failure so have a mind battle going on. My body is holding up very well considering . . .much looking forward to lighter evenings and Park Runs.

Welcome back ! If it hurts, slow down. And if it still hurts, slow down again ! Always remember the First Rule of C25k: The only run you fail is the run you don’t go for. Never listen to the Voices. Remember how they said you’d never get through week 1 ? They were lying then and they’re lying now ! Happy running 😀

Many thanks for the low down on those liars telling me to stop and go home! Week 6 run 1 had me telling them to shush, you are right, I CAN do this!
