... am I a wuss for looking out the window this morning and staying in bed??
Don’t mind a bit of rain, but it’s very heavy and persistent out there, and the lightning is a bit scary ⛈
Hoping it will have eased off later - if so I’ll go out once the children are in bed. It’ll be interesting to try an evening run as I’ve only ever run early morning up until now.

Can't blame you at all! I do my runs at 2pm in the week or 7am on Sunday. But with the hot weather we was having I sometimes went out early morning before work midweek as the temperature suited me better.
However today I am in bed feeling cozy whilst it is dark and raining outside! I need to go downstairs and do some indoor exercise .. My run is due after work later... But even doing indoor exercise is tough in this weather!!!
Very good! That's what I like to hear lol! I managed to do my morning aerobics and actually it wasn't long before I was warmed up so not as difficult as I feared haha!
I was dreading running in the rain last night as it was the first time for me but I actually preferred it to running in the sun on Saturday 🥵. I suppose we’re going to get lots of wet weather now we are stepping into autumn/winter but I’m with you on the lightening though. I don’t think I’d like running in that so I’d be staying in bed too haha. Hopefully it will wade off for you later. Enjoy your run 🤗
Yeah, I think a bit of rain is quite nice, and definitely preferable to the hot sun. I haven’t yet run in really heavy rain, so not sure how that would feel...
Now I’ve said I’ll run later I’m feeling accountable, which is a Very Good Thing 😀
I like running in the rain! When I was doing c25k it was between November and February and I wondered how I was going to cope in the summer weather! But as I kept waking up too early it worked out as I could run in the morning if the weather was going to be too hot in the afternoon. However now its gloomy and dark at 6-7am! Its time to adapt again!!
Yeah, it is quite gloomy around 6am now. But glorious when you start in the moonlight, then see the sun rise 😊
My husband opened the front door to go to work and shouted ‘holy moly’ at the sight of the rain. I don’t think you’re a wuss at all. There’s rain and then there’s a storm... I know what I’d rather run in!
I’m with you on the lightening. I’ve run in heavy rain and that was weirdly nice, having rain streaming off my face! 🤣 Though it was summer rain so I didn’t get cold. I find evening runs much harder, both to make myself do, and also the actual running, but I’m sure some people are the opposite! Enjoy it when you do get out there 😊🏃🏼♀️
I like to wind down in the evenings so much prefer to get things done either morning or afternoon! If I don't do my run straight after work at 2pm I am more likely to talk myself out of doing it at all lol
We had a short reprieve but it's back again. Should ease here in Sussex around 1ish...🤞🏻 I'm hoping it does as I need to go out and change 2 bulbs in my car and they are a right pain so will be far from quick. I will be mostly channelling my inner contortionist! 🤣
I went out to do 5K yesterday evening. 5 mins after leaving the house the heavens opened up on me and it was a proper down pour causing localised flooding. I would never have gone out in it but once out it’s not too bad. Kept me cool.
It tested my new wind proof and water proof running jacket. I hope it’s wind proof because it ain’t water proof.😀
It was light and not at all expensive. I have a really good one which has been properly tested last winter. But it’s a little too heavy, not cold enough yet.
My first post. Im only at w3r2 & surprisingly am enjoying it-not being the sporty type but this morning i done exactly what you did-got up & thought it would be silly to go out in that. Now i feel guilty, keep thinking i should have gone? Are we only ones or do even pros have 'days off' due to bad weather or is it a cop out???
Welcome Onthecusp 😀 Delighted to have your company, particularly in the rain and lightning averseness!
