Running back to me.

Just finished w6 r3. It was hard. I'm not fit, I'm just pig headed. Even when every step feels torture I wont give up. Afew years ago I had cancer and my weight bombed on and off since. This year Im doing c25k again, at slimming world, stopped drinking 3 litres of pepsi max a day and came off my antidepressants. C25k is really hard for me. The graceful gazelles stride by me as i plop along gasping for breath lol. Start of week 7 tomorrow. Eek!

OMG mods71, 3 litres of Pepsi Max a day, wow, I'm from Scotland and drink Iron Bru, that 2 litre bottle lasts me a week. Glad that you have stopped drinking Pepsi. Just take your runs slow and steady. 😊 Onwards and upwards to week 7.

Thank you. I can't imagine trying to run with 3 litres of pepsi max in me! I'd be swooshing from side to side lol. x

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

If you are gasping for breath, you are going too fast.......slow down.

Enjoy your journey

Thank you. Not sure I can run any slower without walking lol. I've chronic sinisitus so breathing through my nose whilst running isn't going to happen. I'm truly shocked at how good c25k is. It really works... :)

Believe me, you can run slower. Read the guide and take on board the pacing and breathing advice........forget about breathing through your nose.

Running and walking are different movements, not necessarily different paces. Although hard to remember that if you are on the Serengeti amongst the gazelles (which is why I like running where there's no-one but me or just ambling dog-walking 'cows')

A long breath *out* often helps with the gasping. You can do this. You *are* doing this.

You have come so far! That's incredible! You're incredible!

I'm on a similar journey (without the same chronic illness). I'm asthmatic, a SW member, no longer taking antidepressants and fighting to keep a 2st loss whilst I lumber along the road, currently on Week 8.

I read your story and you inspire me to keep going.

Go Girl, you got this! Good luck with your next run xx

Briiliant!! I got my 1.5 stone award and club 10 yesterday! It definitely easier to run being in the 13 stones rather than the 15s when I started. Lets do this! x

Hi Mods71 thanks for posting your story and pic, an inspiration to all of us I think πŸ‘. You’ve done really well coming this far and I know your going to smash the rest of this πŸ™‚! I’m due to do week 6 Run 3 tomorrow and was a wee bit warey if it, but you’ve given me a boost to get it done! Being Scottish tho I’ve got to agree with Almorr that Irn Bru is a far superior drink to Pepsi max πŸ˜‚

Welcome Mods. A very inspiring post and good luck with your running journey 😎

As stated above. If your struggling for breath, slow down. The gazelles striding past had to start somewhere...

Congratulations 🎊 2 awards in one week and completing another C25K week! Hopefully you feel massively better still as you get further into it. I've been racking up the benefits too. I listed 10 this last week but that is just the tip of the iceberg, i could have gone on! The number of group members that have followed my lead an signed up for a group C25K has surprised me. They cite me as their inspiration (I hope they can stick to it).

Anyway. You're a legend in your own right, happy running! Xx
