Hi All!

So I started C25k a couple of years ago during lockdown. Having never run long distance it was a challenge. My first week was hell. I struggled to maintain 1min jogs. By the end of the program I was jogging for at least 30minutes nonstop. This was a huge achievement even though I'm a slow jogger.

Fast forward to May 12th 2023. After a long gap of continuous jogging, I was determined to get back to it at least twice a week. I now jog on my local canal every Monday & Friday. The first one was hard work, I did 5.5k in around 55mins but had to brisk walk twice for 0.5km. My second 5k I was able to jog nonstop. Today marks 6 weeks of jogging & I completed my fastest 5k of 2023, completing it in 38min 10sec. This is good for me, as this month I was completing 5k in 41-44mins. So slowly making progress!

To anyone just starting C2K5 & if you've never run, I have to say C25K is an amazing app. It really helped me to get on my jogging journey & stay determined, even with the long gap of not jogging. My mother who has never jogged in her life also completed C25K. Plus I've just recruited a friend to start as they want to start exercising.

This may sound over the top but C25k really has been life changing for me. As someone who was born with asthma it has definitely improved my cardio, as well as maintaining my wellbeing and generally making me feel physically healthier.

KEEP AT IT EVERYONE!!

Thank you AlMorr it feels great to get back to it. I'm determined to keep it going, keep reducing my time & then start longer runs. Slowly but surely 😄🏃🏽‍♀️

Great to have you back and great to read this very positive post...

Now you are back... stick around and take a look at some of the other ideas that are here, to move you on and take you forward. Loads of great support here... :)

The more runs you do, shaking them up and putting in some short runs and the lovely long relaxed , see where I get to runs...the more those runs evolve.

The relaxed long slow runs are the ones which build everything up, strength, stamina, distance and yes... speed!

HUGE well done you!
