Made the decision yesterday to do C25K to try and get myself back into a fitness routine. I used to love running but 6 years ago I got into a relationship where I was made to feel guilty if I went to the gym or out for a run. 5 years and 5 extra stone later - I’m single (yeah, I kicked him to the kerb!) but I’m out of breath just walking up the stairs! I turn 50 next year and I’m determined to be fitter than I’ve ever been. I read good reviews about this app, so today is hopefully the first day to getting my weight and fitness like my life - back under control. Go me!!! Lol.

Hi there I’m also 50 - with 5 stone more than I would like to be and started a few weeks ago not really sure I could do this - with the help of this forum and following the plan you can really do it! Hope you enjoy rediscovering what you love and proving you can be resilient. Good luck

Congratulations I really hope that enjoy running. I have finally found the 1 exercise that I enjoy. I go out alone twice a week and once with a running club. I find it easier with the club but alone it's all about discipline. All the very best

I turned 50 last year and whilst I struggle to find much positive about the number I did parkrun today and although I came 199th overall I was 7th in my age category (I didn't check to see if I was also last in it lol)! :D So plenty to look forward to - good luck!

Well done for making the decision to start the plan and take control of your life 😊 I turn 50 next year and also decided to get fitter.... I still can’t believe I ran W7R2 this morning. You can do it!!!

Hi, thank you for the positive comments. I got round to doing the first day today - due to illness 🤦🏼‍♀️. Had Jo Wiley in my ear and it was really motivating!! I used to run a lot but since packing on the weight I’ve not done it for years - but as soon as I’d done the second 60s run I and my body remembered that euphoric feeling you get from running. A long way to go but today is the start and I am so proud of myself 💪

Welcome along ! Kicking that bloke to the kerb was an excellent way to start your exercise routine x

Well done! I’m nearly 50 too 😁

And yes, probably 5 excess stones here too.

But I’m finishing week 8 tomorrow so if I can do it, you can. 💪🏃‍♀️
