Hi all - I’m brand new to this forum, I’ve been an avid walker for around 2 years but have just discovered running. At the moment I do walk/run intervals on the treadmill but 5k is my goal - I struggle with stamina so thought this would be a good way to go! Wish me luck!
Feeling determined!: Hi all - I’m brand new to... - Couch to 5K
Feeling determined!
Welcome JacquiAM. C25K is an excellent program to get you there and if you take keep posting we will cheer you on every step of the way. 😀

Welcome and enjoy.
Welcome Jacqui, I was in the same boat as you when I started C25K 9 weeks ago, and I’ve graduated this morning. 😀
Keep up with it and keep in touch with the forum. You’ll find loads of advice, help and support here. 👍
Very best of luck with your running 🏃♀️
Hi jacqui. I was exactly the same, run/walk on the treadmill but never really getting any better. I even did 10k (ONCE!) on the treadmill but never actually running more than 5 minutes! Then one day, it was so hot & stuffy in the gym, I realised I wasn’t getting any better and thought to hell with this! I’m going to go back to basics, start from scratch, and decided to do this c25k. Outside! It was the best decision I’ve ever made! Running outside is sooo much better than a boring treadmill! Yesterday I ran for 28 minutes non stop. And I know now I will be running for 30 minutes next week. Something I have NEVER done before!
So stick with us kid. You won’t regret it. Good luck! 👍👍
Ps sorry for the ramble ☺️
I have tried various attempts at running over the years but this one has worked. I attribute most of the success to going really slowly and being part of this forum. The support has definitely kept me going. Good luck 🙂
I'm also a walker. Happy to walk all day. But always wanted to be a runner! This programme really works! Slow and steady, you will be able to run for 30 mins. But try to run outside too if you can! Outside is more interesting and every run is different, even over the same route. Good luck!
