The elusive easy run

Is it just me or does anyone else find each run hard? I wish I could say that my runs felt comfortable all the way but they never do. My legs felt like lead and I had to really focus on not giving up. Anyone else still waiting for the easy one? I'll be graduating this week surely I should be finding things easier

Maybe easier will come eventually just slow down and try and enjoy 😊😊

Everyone finds the first week of C25K hard, some very hard particularly if they have not ran for a long time, some never since leaving school with bad memories of cross country runs which they were forced😏 to run and hated. 😂

As the runs progress you should find the runs less hard and start to enjoy them. 😊

Run 2 of week 9 is the run before you graduate, I wish you all the very best for your graduation run, good luck 🏃🎓

Thanks I’m hoping once it’s just me and my strava and playlist I’ll find it easier, the chirpy “ you’ve ten minutes left” from Sarah is playing with my mindset 😂😂

I’m at the same point as you. On the one hand all the runs have been hard. I’m short and I’m heavy and totally unsporty, I can’t afford any proper gear yet and I have no family support, so I completely understand why I feel this way. And yet, if I compare how difficult it was to get through week 1 and how difficult it is to get through week 9, I’m not actually talking about the same thing at all. Now it’s hard to sustain a jog for 30 minutes: back then it was impossible to sustain one for 30 seconds. You’ve made massive progress and the programme is continuing to push you into more of the same. Don’t be discouraged, be proud of you - we all are x

Ahh thanks Buttercup, you are so right, I’m not a creature of the air and that’s for sure. I know we’ll both carry on after our graduation and as you say once we couldn’t jog for one minute and now here we are determined and doing it like everyone else on this lovely supportive forum 😊😊

Absolutely. What used to be fantasy is now merely difficult. We’ve come a long way together x
