Wellie Fartlek, did I do one? Wellie Fartlek, Yes I Did!

Daughter had to work a late shift last night, so the plan was I minded the grandsprocket this morning and would do my run after he’d gone home.

But he’s 2 years old and likes to run, so our dog walk turned into puddle splashing, Fartlek session, by the river, with both of us in our wellies and big coats. I let him set the pace, only actually stopping for oncoming cyclists and other dog walkers. I got seriously warm and it was definitely a workout - though wellies are definitely NOT recommended running gear.

Running wellies... wonder if anyone’s making them? You could make a fortune as everyone likes jumping up and down in muddy puddles... or so I heard on the TV 😂

Sounds like a fun workout! Who knows what fun the next one will bring.

I suspect they wouldn’t take over from goretex as the front runner 😁

Not ‘grown up’ enough for serious athletes 😂

Maybe... but the country set do like a welly... and some of them are £150 a pair... I think there could be a market 😂

Hahahah! Funny you should say that daughter and I needed new wellies and thought we’d treat ourselves to some posh Hunter ones. Both pairs are having to go back as hers are far too narrow and I can’t get mine off on my own. They were an excellent shade of orange too!

I haven’t owned a welly since I was about 6... they used to irritate me... I’m guessing the likes of Hunter make them comfortable.

I spent 2 years in my 20s constantly in wellies at work, which is why I now have problems with my left Achilles.

There are some walks - especially near her house - that we just can’t do in anything but wellies.

Nothing too deep in mud here... I do like running through the stuff though.

Love it! 😀 I am guessing a blur of 2year old legs rushing from one puddle to the next!? 😄

Wellies really not good for running but I can 100% recommend waterproof socks with your trainers for puddles 👍😁🤣

They really aren’t. 😁

Wore my sealskinz last week in the tiny bit of snow we had and came home with dry feet.

Wore them Monday morning in the rain and the mud and pretty much had soaking wet feet, which is why I don’t normally bother.

I actually don’t mind my feet being wet as long as they are still warm, so I tend to stick to merinos. And I always have at least one pair of dry socks with me even if I’m wearing wellies 😂
