Finally started the C25K app. After a week of making up excuses. Feel good now but with asthma and the freezing cold air my chest was tight most of the way. Although the second half seemed alot easier πͺπ». Don't know if that was my lungs getting used to the temperature or my mind, knowing it was the second half π

Well done. Great start. Believe you can do it, follow the programme and youβll be fine.
Btw, this running business is addictive! Good luck.
haha i was just like you, came home from my first couple of runs wheezy and feeling dead but soo proud of myself ππ trust me, it gets easier!
Haha at the mile mark I contemplated lying in the middle of the road π
Definitely, the guy I work with started on this a few year ago. He's doing the London marathon this year and occasionally does a 10k for the hell of it.

Great job... very well done.
The start of a run is the hardest bit... that is always a factor to remember. Maybe try a buff to have the air you take in be a little bit warmer. You just did the hardest workout of the plan... the biggest step up... you can do this.

I wrapped a scarf over my mouth n nose yesterday for my second run of W1, it really helped. I was advised to not let the scarf cover my chest though, apparently thatβs a bad idea. Good luck n welcome to the club!
Thanks, I had a scarf tonight but it kept falling down and to be honest I was trying to try it with and without to see what was best lol
with the scarf = slightly better but sometimes the air struggled to get in fully
Without the scarf = ice cold air but loads of it
Bloody asthma π€¬

A really thin merino type neck gaitor works for me. I usually have it stretched tight over my mouth and leave my nose clear. Air seems to get in and out ok.

Huge well done.. it was bitingly cold yesterday and the air was freezing as it went down... I am not asthmatic and it was tough!!! I think we relax and get into the run and it does mean we are getting used to the temp'
A Buff is useful for pulling up over your mouth.... and it stops drips and leaks around your neck too! ( Snow, rain etc)
Relax, slow and steady and check out the link for Newbies....
PS.. Always make sure your Meds are with you if you need them
