Well done, in spite of the leg effect. It’s a reminder to be sure to take the rest days. Can’t recommend enough the pinned post from Iannoda Truffe about getting started. It has lots of out-links to fascinating info for when you want it and got me on the right lines back when 30 seconds of running was more than enough. If I have got to W5r3, you will too!

Well done you. Just concentrate on completing each one and forget about speed. I am 62 and started last October. Completed the C25K and first parkrun was 33 mins, and never felt better.keep at it you are worth it, and will be amazed if you can run every other day. I sometimes missed it as I work full time and hate really cold weather. Good for you, fantastic.

It happens to most of us.... slow and steady and just run and enjoy. The legs and you get stronger with each and every run!

Well done you!

Make sure you’re well hydrated - that can make a massive difference to how your legs feel.

Well done! I am going to do mine this morning. My heart and brain are ready for it but my legs aren’t so sure.

Hi there Geordiehousewife.

Well done you for Week 1. The leg pains are common, but will go away very soon. Believe me. I started couch25K in October, and have just done my record-beating 5.5 km run - the first week of Ju-Ju's bridge to 10K. So if I can do that with no exercise for the past 40 years, anyone can. Keep it up. You will find lots of motivation within this group, and a good deal of humour too.
