Well last week I posted that I hadn’t run for two weeks due to my dad being in the ICU ( I mistakingly put I was on week 8 , but it was week 7) Anyhow this week I have managed run 1 and 2 and it wasn’t too bad, but today which was run 3 was just awful. My legs felt like lead, my breathing was all over the place and I just could t find my rhythm at all!!! It’s ok though right? I just feel a bit meh that I couldn’t finish it! I only managed about 10 mins 😩😩
Failed W7 R3: Well last week I posted that I... - Couch to 5K
Failed W7 R3
Ooh nooo please do not worry . I know this happens sometimes . Just repeat that run next time . I am about to start W8 tomorrow . Happy running 😊
You can just repeat the run. Have a days rest, and go for it on Saturday. Don’t be hard on yourself, you’ve been through a lot, and got back into it, and you should be congratulated for that. You got out there, you tried, and you ran for 10 minutes - that’s not failure - that’s a good try. And Saturday you’ll complete W7. Let us know how you get on x
We have good runs........... some people have bad runs ( I don't believe in them personally......there is always something to be learned!!) , but we don't FAIL!!!!!
Please don't use the F word!!!
Regroup, rest, try to work out the reasons for the not so good practice run, take a deep breath and know that you will be better prepared for the next one.
Fail. Never. You ran 10 mins. Well done. I am sure your next run will be much better. Warm wishes.
Not a failure hun thats a victory, you tried and did well and listened to yr body. I hope your dad is doing well x
Of course it’s ok... you know you can do 25... you went to the start line... you ran... you got stronger... you got fitter... you got healthier! Anyway, enough of the positives... you didn’t get the run you went off for... that’s the only negative.
Take the time to look back... think of that first 60s interval of the first run of this plan... bit of a struggle huh? Today you ran 10 times longer... be proud. Relax... you’ll get it next time out again.
There is no failure. Only learning. Two weeks is quite a break. Don't expect to pick up exactly where you left off. But it won't take long start moving forward again.
You still ran for 10 minutes more than you were doing a few weeks ago so don’t beat yourself up. Put it down as a training run and see what you can learn from it.
Did you set off too fast? Were you dehydrated, hungry or both? There could be all sorts of reasons things didn’t go as planned. Or it could just have been one of those days when your heart wasn’t in it.
Go out and enjoy the next run in a couple of days.
