Patience has never been my strong point - having an injury so soon after graduation sucks. Ran twice last week ( after seeing a sports therapist) her advice was stop if it hurts - well it hurts so have stopped again! I cannot wait until I am 100% back to normal and out pounding the pavements again!

Take great care... you could be sending a lot more time on the IC... we advise here, never to run through pain. Your Sports Physio has given you good advice...what treatment have you had or exercises ... ?

Hi Oldfloss - I have had sports massage and am following the therapists advice and treating with heat every couple of hours. She has given me some Pilates exercises to stretch the quads out. I can’t take painkillers (long story) I ran last Thursday and it felt a little uncomfortable at first but then not too bad but Sunday was awful. Leg was hurting which changed the way I usually run and it didn’t ease off at all. Went for a walk last night to see if I can keep it moving but hurt lots today. Currently sat with my feet up but not happy about it

It is so hard... I had to forgo my HM training last year... and then bronchitis has slowed me up again this year... running teaches us so much... and patience is the hardest lesson of all...Just stay strong.. the runs wait.. and upper body exercises... are great... believe me!!!

Hi Zaza....hang on in there, hopefully it won't be too long on that dreaded injury couch, rest up and before you know it you'll be back out there.

Common sense tells me I have no other option as tempting as going out for a run is

This, unfortunately, is the way that most of us learn the language that our bodies are using when they talk to us.

Patience and possibly strengthening exercises, are the key.

Take care.

Thanks - definitely need to do more strengthening exercises 👍🏻

It must be soooo annoying - but keep away from hubby’s dumbbells in case you’re tempted to do some damage with those offending items. Get well soon! 😊
