So I am trying this running thing again I tried 10 months ago but stopped for different reasons but I am 40 this year and really out of shape. I am single and look at myself in the mirror I think that no one would want to go anywhere near me. I have to do this for myself

So 40 may be the age you’re the fittest you ever have been. Slow and steady and you got this. When you look in that mirror next, don’t look at what you don’t like... look yourself in the eye and tell yourself, out loud, that you’re going to do this. When you complete this programme go back to the mirror and tell yourself that you did it... and look at that grin... what’s not to love there? Go make that grin... enjoy the journey.

You're doing the right thing. C25K is a great way not only to get physically fitter but also boost your confidence. Stick with it and very quickly you'll see a glow in your cheeks and a twinkle in your eyes. After a while you'll see a physical difference, but you'll be feeling better about yourself long before that. I started C25K aged 43 and lost 10lbs (without having to diet - joy!) but it's the spark and energy it's given me that I'm enjoying most - and that's attracted the most comments/compliments. You will not regret doing this- I was 49 when I started, and my only regret is that I didn't do it 10 years ago.
