Hoping I can do this !

Just completed week one, found it tough ! I am going to do it again before going on to wk 2, for some reason I find the middle run really hard ! I haven’t run for years, and I’m a bit overweight, but my healthy eating is working. Hoping I can do this !

You can do it . I am 63 and never run before in my life. Just about to do week5 run 2 but was about to give up after the very first run! So pleased I stuck with it, not finding it easy but am so determined to stick with it. Hope you manage to stick with it too. Good luck 👏🏻

Morning Mariabev! Well done on getting out there and completing week 1! But, you know, if you’ve completed all the runs as per the plan there’s no reason why you should need to repeat it. Each week is preparation for the next one so you might feel knackered as you do week 2 but I bet it won’t be any worse than you felt on week 1! Like you I wondered whether to repeat weeks just to prove I could do them easily but in the end I decided to press on and only repeat a run if I didn’t complete it - and that hasn’t happened yet. Stay hydrated, run slowly and nail it! Good luck!

Repeating a week is fine and can be a very good way to stick at it, and quite soon you might feel you don’t need to repeat. I started about 5 months ago very unfit, near 53 and carrying quite a lot of baggage. So you can do this too! My first breakthrough was learning that my brisk walk could be faster than my run! Then I saw this around w6 (sorry I’m always posting this but it does help a lot of us) m.youtube.com/watch?v=9L2b2... I run this way all the time and love it! I’ve lost some weight, many inches, had no pain or injuries and feel great! This running can be so transformative - so stick at it & slow counts!! Good luck x

Thank you for the video, it will really help ! That’s about my pace at the mo, I will do wk one again, and hopefully find it easier, I get straight up at 6 and go before work, or I’m sure I will find an excuse not to ! I hope I’m strong enough to keep going ! X

There’s some interesting sides to the technique, I focused on the foot placement, and the landing style, then rewatched a few times to improve & check I was doing other bits right. You’ll do this! If I could - you can! x

I’m planning on studying it after work, thanks again for this, it will really help, if I go on ok, I will buy some better running shoes ect. I’ve just got to keep trying ! 6 am perfect for me when no one around ! 😂 x
