That was a surprise!

W7R3 just finished....or rather finished it...just! It's the inexplicably hard runs that make the good runs great. No idea why today was hard....but i think repeating week 7 will help consolidate progress so far and give me some confidence. after all, i'm only in competition with myself...right??

Right, yes, no harm on repeating any run or week in C25K, you have done very well on getting to week 7, by repeating week 7 and consolidating those runs you will have ran 7/25 minute runs, you then will be ready to run 3 /28 minute runs of week 8 and 3/30 minute runs of week 9, that of course includes your graduation run 🏃.

No one knows why some runs are just not great. It happens to all of us. But you did it, and that counts for a lot.

Good luck with week 8.

I've repeated a lot of runs, doesn't matter how many runs it takes, progress is still being made.

There’s books to be written on why a run just sucks sometimes... but there’s many books written by runners who don’t know why and completed the run regardless.

For me, you’ve done 4 25 minute runs and one sucked... so go for 28 and what’s the worst possible result? Maybe you run 25, maybe you run for 28... who can tell? The run after a tough one is usually much smoother too. It is your journey though, so whatever you decide to do is the right decision. Happy running,

thanks for the message...it's proving to be an interesting process. i used to run 40 to 50 miles per week in my 30s and now am trying to get back into running....mindful of avoiding injury...but my damn brain remembers what it's like to run like a thirty something whereas my 49 year old body doesn't. i'm finding the journey interesting and the support on this site is much appreciated.

Tell me about it... I was damn fast over 3k at 16... and it took time to admit to myself that I can’t beat my youth when it comes to speed... but I can relax and enjoy my running at my pace and my 16 year old self never ran 5k, so I’d catch him eventually! The brain took some convincing, pain every day for 30 years meant I was happy but not optimistic the first time I got about of bed and it didn’t hurt... took a few weeks to get used to! Hopefully with the right TLC on those ankles you’ll be in the same position... and yeah, 30s you will have been faster, but not better, relax and enjoy.
