1st run !

I’ve just completed my first session and managed to do 1.8 miles. (2.8km) on a treadmill.I found the session a challenge as I haven’t run since I was chased out of a field by a farmer when I was 17!I’m now 49 and well over weight! How do you keep yourself motivated? I’ve always found that once the novelty wears of, the hardest part is getting my ass out of the pub or off the chair.

Welcome. You can do this. Follow the programme - it really does work. It will take some perseverance but when you run your final run at the end of week 9 it will all be worth it and the feeling will be amazing (it was for me and has not worn off).
