I was genuinely about to go and get changed to do my next run, but sat down at the computer for 10 mins. I got up and my lower back was in spasm, feeling like I've nipped a nerve taken painkillers but not going to be able to run today #feelingsorryformysel
Week 4, Run 2: I was genuinely about to go and... - Couch to 5K
Week 4, Run 2
Nice post. A couple of times, I have contemplated "just checking something else" before my run, which has inevitably gone on to delay the intended run by a day. Thankfully, it has never been longer than a day, and doubtless the reticence is real. However, on those days that I get the reminder, and just go and get changed and get out the door before I listen to the podcast are the days that don't cause me any trouble. You may have still got your back spasm even if you had not sat down at the computer but you will never know. In week 6 I now try NOT to listen to the podcast or look at the content of the next run until I am actually starting it. The meditation side of my plan tells me not to think about the past or the future - only about the now. It has helped me with this Couch to 5K and with some other matters in life recently. Just a thought.
My spasm lasted till about a couple of hours ago, I have an appointment with a physio this evening o, but limbering up and might run this afternoon if I think it's feasible I'm not an avoideras I have enjoyed the process of these runs and feeling accomplished in their completion!
