Hey guys, I'm Rick and new here. A former soldier and experienced mountaineer, I'm looking to get into peak condition and take on Everest base camp.

Let me know who you are, what your goals are and let's support one another in getting fit, not fat, this festive season and for life.

Hi Rick welcome to the forum. Sounds like you must be pretty fit to start with. Are you just starting Couch to 5k?

Hi CatMo13.

I'm kinda middle of the scale. Not total couch addict but a way off my fitness goals. Here to improve and offer support and some good old positivity to those who need a bit of friendly encouragement. 😁

Thanks for the kind words. I'm changing up my endurance routine and want to try and incorporate running as a daily routine. Hoping this will help. 😎🤞

Hey well done! It’s a good start, onwards and upwards from there, I’m doing one day on one day off, sundays are for resting for me 😜

Yeah that's a decent goal especially in the first few weeks when I of all people know how rough it can be to get started again.

Any form of exercise is a big positive boost on your day and I'm sure in time your little one will be proud of his/her mum for having all those extra precious years to spend as a family 🙏❤️👪

Hi Rick, I'm using this app to improve my stamina and running ability as I'm going the Royal Navy next year and am in no way shape or form ready quite yet, any tips you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Training for RN or other armed forces is as serious as training for a marathon except you have time on your side.

Basic training will see you doing 6 mile jogs from the outset.

Do this 9 week Couch to 5k course then follow up with combo of jogging, incline walking or hiking and some cardio in the gym if possible.

Eat high protein, low carb diet and ditch sugars for good. No more fast food!

I guarantee you inside of 6 months you'll be in prime condition.

Keep in touch brother.

Respect.

Richard 😎👍🙏🙌

Hi HR76,

You have come to the home of motivational magic.

The C25k programme does what it says on the tin, as per Oldfloss’s reply.

You can find the leads you are looking for here on HealthUnlocked also to support your goals of daily continuous running, but it is self determined to the tried and tested C25k programme.

Good luck with your running,I hope you find what you are looking for.Nothing compares to running for everything really.

Atb.👏👏.

Welcome. You’re driven and will meet your goals for sure. Hope you enjoy adding some distance running into your regime.

I’m hoping to be back from injury by Christmas so I can run some of the excesses off as I go and leave less to work on later 😂. Goals, 2020 marathon du medoc, 2019 100 miles in July.

You've got realistic goals outlined. Keep steady with one foot in front of the other and don't quit no matter how much your head tells you to. Nobody ever got super fit and made the positive change by thinking about it.

I'm in this boat too my friend so you let me know anytime things get too much and I'll be there to motivate you! 😉😎👍
