Hi all
Literally just back from the first run. Feeling good. But my feet and legs felt really cramped towards the end. Is this just s stamina issue?

Welcome.
It could be, if you watch football you’ll notice players cramp a lot if the game goes into extra time as they get to the limits of their endurance training.
It could also be hydration, footfall, shoes/running surface amongst others. As a new runner hydration could be the main suspect, especially in the colder weather when we tend to think we need less water. If you’ve felt thirsty today after your first drink, then your hydration could be better. Sip water all day, every day, and it should improve. Literally a couple of litres over the day in sips will be enough alongside other drinks.
Foam rolling helps a lot too, as do post run stretches.
Well done completing run one, it’s not easy.
Thanks o was very thirsty at the end so might be that. Was great fun though hard I bought my trainers in July used them for the first timen tonight
Well, it’s good to prepare! I spent a year looking at running apps... none of which I actually needed to run, so you did much better getting an essential item!
Drink a little more and see how you go. I always take on water just after the run, but I’m never really that thirsty. The muscles do like a lot of water to use up!
Good luck with it.
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Each run may throw up different issues at the start, but keep it nice and slow, as described in the guide, and you will be fine.
Enjoy your journey.
