Crawled out the front door at 4:40am to darkness and cold to start week 9 run 2. 30 seconds into my warm up walk the rain started. Was so not in the mood as I’ve also picked up a cold.
Anyway, pushed on and was determined to finish and I also wanted to get closer to 5km. Finished the run, even managed to really pick up the pace for the last 5 minutes and covered 4.3km during the 30minutes, might have a chance of hitting 5km during my graduation run on Thursday.
Feeling really good!!

Well done speedy you! That’s determination alright. 👊
Good luck with your graduation run too. You’ll smash it out the park whether you reach 5k or not. Have tons of fun and prepare yourself for your time on the podium! 👏👏👏
Thanks but speedy is not really me. I’m taking a bit of a Liberty even calling what I do running. But I’m feeling good about where I am now compared to where I started.
My god 4am start! You are exactly at the same place I was. 4.3Km and I finished on about 4.5KM. I began week 10 and each week after that doing each weeks runs a couple of mins longer each week. So week 10 was 32mins each time and week 11 35mins. I did 5KM on my first run of week 12 and took 38 mins. I was glad I just went slowly. I am now in week 13 running 40 mins but have run 3 5KM runs in the last 8 days. I would advise carry on with targets based on time, not distance, and you will get there anyway. Good luck and well done.
