Hi everyone, I just joined having completed week one, the hardest day was the third run / walk which surprised me. I am very close to my 60th birthday and would like to be healthier in my twilight years!! A few pounds shed would not go amiss! I guess I am looking for inspiration
Hello All!: Hi everyone, I just joined having... - Couch to 5K
Hello All!

Welcome Badger π you have come to right place. Well done on getting the hard bit done...getting over the start line. π enjoy your running journey π

Welcome to the start of your journey! Just take it at your own pace, I also found that my final runs of the week were also the hardest, probably due to being at the end of the week.

Welcome.
Youβve done the hardest week... fitness will rise faster than youβd think and now youβre off the couch we wonβt let it have you back!
Keep your legs active on rest days, just donβt run... go for a walk, do some yoga, cycle, swim, do some body weight workouts (no gym or equipment required). This will help with the aches and pains as your muscles develop.
Stay well hydrated... sip water all day every day (couple or 3 litres in total)
Keep the pace down, slower running is much better for this than going as fast as you can, and safer too.
Trust the plan and believe in yourself... you can do this... enjoy your journey.
Hi
Iβm just starting too. Itβs hard work, but if I get up, show up, and run (no matter how slow), I feel like Iβm making progress. Keep up the good work. ππ

Welcome ποΈ
And well done π
This place is great, full of support and advice... Follow the plan, slow and steady π... And you can't go wrong!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
"What are these twilight years you refer to?" asked the soon to be 63 year old.
Well done! Not only did you take the first step to an amazing journey. You also completed week 1. Every week you will amaze yourself. I never thought I would ever manage 20 full minutes of running. But I did , and you will soon too. It's an amazing journey . Take it slow, find your own pace, it's not a race, and every week you will gain a little bit more strength and stamina . And you will feel amazing with it π

Welcome to you... a mere youngster!
