Fell over a couple of weeks ago - not while running - landed on gravel, and ripped my knee open.
And today?
Well, today, I was rushing to get 3 car hating dogs out of my car and into my house so I could get to my appointment with the nurse (to re-dress my knee) and didn’t see next door’s cat on their doorstep...
So now I have a glued up face, bruised ribs and a broken wrist.
I’ll be over here on my sofa, taking regular painkillers if you need me.

Oh my! Maybe a nice holiday next November? You’ll be back of course, there’s no keeping you down. Hope the wrist heals well, and of course we need you.
Where I used to work we had an intranet forum... just before lunch one day someone posted for advice on how to keep cats out of their garden. I replied “12-bore” and went to the pub. I returned to over 500 emails, none of them nice... so I posted a retraction:
I understand that my advice was wrong, letting off a 12-bore at night is only going to irritate the neighbours... it’s overkill, a .22 will do just as good a job.
They gave me one of those ‘care sheets’ to come home with and deep breaths are indeed on it. Plus a couple of other things I’m not sure I can currently do with my broken wrist without some heavy modification.
Just take care... I know after I tripped..( over the coffee table!) and popped my ribs..it was very painful...
This is not funny... I think basically if you can, once the initial pain eases... then keep moving... I got onto my trainer onto keep myself from seizing up!
Ouch!! Oh no... Poor u. No good saying take it easy and rest cos that's what u will be doing. ...with a little moving 😁 I broke my wrist last year (scaphoid?) So sympathize. Can recommend bloccs (not on commission!😂😂) To stop cat getting wet. Get well soon. Your running will be waiting
I didn't realise you were you over on the FB page, if that makes sense! I replied there, but I'll say it here again, take care of yourself because that must have been a nasty shock and you are likely to feel it over the next few days. Maybe find a dog walker for the next couple of weeks? You don't want your ribs pulling - ouchie! Take care! x
Oh no! So sorry to read this news. You poor thing - that sounds a really nasty tumble and a very painful outcome. I do hope things improve for you soon.
