First 5K!

So after completing the programme the other day, my first run as a graduate yesterday didn’t quite go to plan. Started getting knee and quad pain, so stopped after 10 minutes. So today I decided I would just walk but once I got going on the treadmill everything fell into place and I completed my first 5K! To say I’m happy is an understatement 😀

Just gonna keep plodding for now to build more stamina and drop some more weight. I walked up snowdon in June and really struggled, which was one of the reasons I decided to start the programme in the first place, so I intend to go up again in the spring hopefully a lot healthier and fitter.

And I moan about running up hills! Good luck with Snowdon for the 2nd time. Hope you find it much easier after all your running.

So do I, I definitely won’t be running up snowdon I think that would completely finish me off 😂

I'm retired and went with my fit son-in-laws up Snowdon this summer. We were meant to go up the Llanberis route but the wrong postcode on satnav sent us to the Miners route car park instead! It was tough but enjoyable - even my fitness app told me to rest afterwards. I, too, started on a diet and the C25K programme as a result and hope to go back next year. I recommend you use the specific Snowdon peak weather forecast that includes visibility so you can pick to go on the day with the best view - we did and were rewarded with absolutely fab views.

I know it was a bit naughty my intention wasn’t to run today as I’d struggled yesterday, but once I’d warmed up everything felt right, no pains so thought I’d just see how i got on x
