After finishing C25K nine months and never running for more than 30 minutes since. I had the sudden urge to run today and completed my first 5K in 42 minutes! Not the best time but the longest and furthest I've ever ran!

Congratulations on running your first 5K in 42 minutes, well done, I am sure it won't be long before you can run a 5K sub 40 minutes, however, there is no rush for that, the main thing is that you enjoy running.

Congratulations, what amazing achievement!!! 🎉 I plan to graduate tomorrow and am currently far, far away from running 5k so for me it's inspiring and encouraging to read that it can be done with patience and continuos training. Thank you for sharing this and all the best for your next runs!

I completely know what you mean! I think being so far away deterred me from running after I finished the programme but I was just putting pressure on myself for no reason. 5k seems like this magic number but really if you can run for 30 minutes despite the distance, that's a huge achievement every time. It's all about being in the right mindset too, today I didn't even think about running until I was doing it, whereas I've had days where I planned a run all day but didn't actually want to do it and stopped after 10 minutes. Good luck for tomorrow, enjoy it! x

Thank you very much, can't wait! 😁 For the weeks and months to come I plan to run for roughly 30 minutes 2 - 3 times per week and to work a bit on pace before building up to 5k, same as you actually. It will be challenging without the app as the thought "I'm not going to repeat this run" was often what kept me going; without the app it will require quite a lot of discipline to continue. So well done for sticking to it and for not only becoming but also staying a runner!
