Hope all you parkrunners had a lovely one this morning. πββοΈππββοΈππββοΈππββοΈ
Iβm loving this brisk weather, even ran in my thin long sleeved top and long leggings. Just the right temperature, but I was mighty pleased to pop my running jacket and down jacket on after scanning my barcode! βοΈβοΈ
Happy to have my doggy buddy back at my side today. She knows the drill and bounces up and down when we all congregate at the start. Then sheβs off, purposefully trotting along and we carefully weave round people into a nice open space. Yes, I actually pass people nowadays! π³π³π³
My time was good at 38.22. Happy with that, especially starting towards the back with the doggies and buggies. ππ
Hereβs a tranquil pic of our park as I was walking up to the start. Itβs so pretty, even though itβs a total inner city one, right alongside the motorway!
Have great weekends guys, and happy running as ever. β€οΈ

My plan doesnβt throw 5k up often, although itβs aiming at one... next Saturday is down as 2.75 mile recovery run... thatβs close enough! I volunteer parkrun 3 on 3 off and juniors weekly... I just need to fit some running ones in π
Thanks Sandi, sheβs a joy to run with and seems to love every moment. She got a little write up on our runβs FB page last weekend, for being the best volunteer! Might need to get her a doggie hi viz so she fits in! β€οΈπ
Brilliant MutleyShuffle! You and he will love it and heβll no doubt get loads of attention! Friendly parkrunners do tend to love the doggies! πββοΈππβ€οΈ
Hi cheeky a Fantastic morning for a nice parkrun. Although It was really chilly once we got going I was really comfortable. I had planned to do a slow one as I have a 10k race next weekend, but came away with a PB. Nice post seems like your dog enjoyed it as much as you did. have a great dayππ
Fabulous, Runsome! Well done on your PB, thatβs brilliant. ππ Looking forward to hearing how your 10k goes. Serious stuff - and a medal I presume? πππ
Thanks CC Iwill give you all the details and yes I hope a medal. I feel like a big kid looking forward to my medal, but so what itβs a bit of fun and am writing my acceptance speech now π have a good week all the best RSπ
No I donβt think so, I havenβt seen it in the rules anywhere.the only thing it did ask was what time do you expect to finish in but that was it π
Ok cool. Not that Iβm planning on doing any 10k races yet, you understand. Would help to reach 10k first! But I know when I do, Iβll certainly not be one of the quicker runners! π π π π
Hi cheeky thatβs how to start. I came 14th from last on the one I did. I just enjoyed the event and encouragement from the local residents who had Come out to cheer everyone on π
Bbbrrrrrrr, good on you for getting out there!!! Definitely a change of climate these last few days for sure π Think a change of continents may be due very soon!! Happy running & fab timeππ»
It will be a holiday cheeky. Youngest daughter lives in Oz & sheβs just had a little girl. The Aussies are an athletic lot so l will be taking my running gear (not till January though as in the middle of selling & buying a new home)Eldest daughter was in Melbourne during the summer & ran a half marathon there. Raised money for the local hospital where the youngest lives. So here in the UK for a bit longer, bbrrrrrrππ»
Ahh I understand OL, I thought youβd had enough and were planning on leaving us! Glad youβre not. π
How wonderful going to Oz in the depths of our winter. No doubt youβll be posting tantalisingly photos while weβre in the deep freeze and/or lashing rain! Brilliant! Youβll have an awesome time. πββοΈ π¦πΊ βοΈ
Good luck with the house move too. Always stressful - hey, more running will help with that! π
Great parkrun cheekychipmunks, how lovely your dog is back running with you too. They can't accommodate dogs on the one I go too but there are usually some bonkers women with buggies π³
Nice place for a run cheeky, would never have thought that was inner city & near motorway! Sounds like you've found your ideal run temperature! I thought it was a bit chilly at first! Glad you & your run buddy enjoyed!
Thanks FR! Yes a beautiful morning and a lovely big turnout at parkrun. Lots of dogs today too, all loving it being nice and cool. ππππββοΈπββοΈππ
Well done cheeky. My kittens were volunteering at our local parking. A lot colder than running! But bless 'em, they're happy to 'help' with the cake. πΈ
Well done Cheekychipmunks! Another good run in the bag this week for you. I bought some more capri running leggings today in prep for a run tomorrow, also got some gloves the other day, totally forgot I had ordered some on Amazon!
Good for you. I did my first ever park run today and enjoyed it. It was harder than Iβd anticipated as there were a couple of long hills but I kept running and completed it and will go again for sure. I was freezing and had work out vest, long sleeve base layer and long sleeve running top, long leggings and gloves. Warmed up about half way through π¬. My time was 35.45 but I had a little detour where I was in my own little world and went slightly off course and had to run up a hill to get back on track ππ
So glad you enjoyed your parkrun HD! And Iβm very impressed with your time given that you went off course a bit! ππββοΈπ
Ours has hills on each lap too, one of the laps is longer, and the hill goes on seemingly forever. Itβs a great feeling at the top though! Love parkrun! β€οΈ
Thanks Dreams, yes it really doesnβt look it does it? Weβre lucky as there are lots of green spaces here, and the choice of 3 parkruns! Must try the other 2 soon, but I love βmineβ too much! πββοΈπππ
Ha, yes even hot little me needed sleeves today! 3 degrees is just a bit too chilly! I was still fairly underdressed compared to some runners though! π
Thanks, yes it was lovely MutleyShuffle! My dog is a superstar and loves running with me. πββοΈπ Sheβs so well behaved and is a real hit with other parkrunners and volunteers alike! β€οΈ
That's so lovely π I used to run with my dog when I started C25K, but he is 12 years old and can't cope with warm weather so had to stop bringing him. Now I run too far for him! Hoping to start some nice run/walk trail runs soon that he will be able to join me on.
Aww bless him! β€οΈβ€οΈ Heβll enjoy some walks/runs with you. ππ Isnβt it loving having them with us?
Iβm gradually increasing my distance now, and have decided not to take my dog on runs longer than 5k or 6k. Sheβs only 6 and very fit (little 21.5kg Lab), but Iβve realised that itβs unnatural for them to run constantly without stopping to sniff etc. Iβm up to 8k now and that takes me more than an hour which isnβt fair on her. Sheβll still get 2 runs with me per week though. β€οΈπβ€οΈ
