Wow!

Welcome. Some people sign up for a 5k and start, a few a 10k... HM? There’s a statement of intent! Keep the pace down, if you’re struggling slow down some more. Great job getting out there.

Check this post out please....

Lots of great information here.

You need to link this with a healthy eating regime and take it very slowly... a HM is a big ask... so the only way is steadily!

Take it gently and keep posting your runs for great support and advice..!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

Do check out the guide linked to by Oldfloss it is full of tips.

Forget about your half marathon for now and concentrate solely on the next run. Don't be tempted to try and rush it because you have a big target. The only way to build a running body is slow and steady, otherwise you will end up injured and be running nowhere.

Slow down, relax and enjoy your journey.

Hi mike! Welcome to the forum and to running! The first week really is the hardest and I will add that I along with others struggle with the second run of any given week. Don’t worry your next run will be easier. You will have good runs, bad runs and runs that hand your bum back to you on a plate on this journey. Keep us posted. You have a virtual cheerleading squad behind you now and they are amazing. We will support you every step of the way. The journey is long and and emotional but so worth it. Listen to the advice of the forum...these people know their stuff.

Ahh Mike you've done so well already! 😁 My advice would be to just focus on the next run and run slow too, very slow. There is plenty of time until March, don't miss the joy and the celebration of each run through the pressured thoughts of what's still far ahead. You're building up stamina every time you go out there, it's really not of any benefit to you to push too hard.

Trust that you will be ready. Allow yourself to just run for fun and the rest will come right along exactly when you need it. Well done you!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️

As all the above have said, slow, slow and more slow. Embrace the inner snail 🐌🐌🐌 You do not want to get sidelined with injury because you were too enthusiastic with the speed :)

Have a great time with c25k. We look forward to following your progress 👍
