I am 56 years old and have never been a runner. But i was always naturally skinny. Well i was until i hit my 50s and then started to steadily gained weight. It was a shock when the people around my were getting a bit too much joy regarding my balloning weight. I tried dieting and had quite a few false starts. When i complained to my wife on how hard it was to lose weight, she sagely said ‘but you have not really tried’. She was right! I started Couch to 5k on the 29th June 2018, when a struggled to run a mere 90 seconds and doing that 6 times in the first session was a real struggle even though my ‘runs’ were more a pathetic shuffle. Little more than three months later, i have completed the programme, lost 2 stone in weight, did my first 10k last weekend, will do my 6th park run today and now dreaming of doing a marathon. I am so thankful to the app and Laura for helping to get me there. If i can do it, so can you!!!
