Today, I ran my furthest since graduating C25K, a new milestone for me, 7k and felt good, a push, but good. so well on my way to 10k. The time is somewhat unimportant to me, but I know it is useful, and some do like to know. I do like to know from my peers on here if it's respectable/expected/above or below par. So for those who like to know, see the screenie of Strava β.
For those of you that followed the previous shoe story, I thought I had returned the shoes only to get a refund. The assistant I spoke during a call about returning then, they said they used them and went a half size up. Ok, and although I had an email saying I was being refunded, I actually hadn't been, and yesterday a new pair arrived.
So thought, OK, I'm not going into stores any time soon (vulnerable family) so lets give these a go (they are run flats, natural, no raised heel apparently, I don't know, I'm clearly no expert - I'm gonna end up 'the guy with all the gear but no idea!'). I'll get a proper fitting when it's 100% safe to do so, so in the meantime, I'll give these a go.
Anyway, the 'scrunched up sock' feel I got first time out with the first pair which were my actual shoe size, a mistake that I only found out from friends on here, only appeared in the left foot today! I was very conscious of the potential disappointment of the same shoes, a half size up.
Any road, the road felt good underfoot actually, I felt good. I have a lot to think about at the moment - some of which are positive, a future that has promise and other areas which need more serious attention, because they are particularly stressful. I started running because of stress and I cannot extol the virtues of running highly enough in this regard, but it makes a change to run with some happy thoughts going too π.
With 7k under my belt, I can't be more pleased at this stage. I'll endeavour to maintain 7k for the duration, until those positive mind angels tell me to 'go -on, add another .5k, you know you want to'... and it will be so π
Positive thoughts and energy to you all.
Happy running. keep safe and healthy
