W7R3 and I hit a brick wall

I’m not sure why but today I hit a brick wall and couldn’t get further than half way through the run. R2 was fine, difficult but I got there but today it just wasn’t happening. Hey go, it happens I suppose but for the first time since I started this I feel slightly discouraged. I’ll try again on Sunday. Not matter what quitting isn’t an option.

To be honest the first 15min of every run makes me question wether to continue.... I feel old, slow & very weary. However I have a suit on today that didn’t fit, I have lost 16lbs in weight.

Keep pushing, honestly it will get better

I have to admit that’s a great feeling. I’m 17lb down now and wearing stuff I was thinking of throwing out a few months back. Little things that make this all worthwhile. The best thing though is that I had the beginning of diabetes before I started and that’s been totally reversed hence the reason why quitting isn’t an option. Today is all in my head I’m sure. I’ve completed this run a few times now so I know I’m physically up for it.

It happens... lots of reasons why... Rest up... pop in some extra strength and stamina exercises too. These are so important as the runs get longer... for keeping all of your body going, not just your legs.

Then..head out..let the legs find their happy pace, start slow and stay slow and if that wall appears.. slow down more and just run right through it :)

Onward and upward:)

Absolutely. It’s a temporary setback. No more no less. We shall overcome.

It happened to me too in week 7, l just gave up after 21 mins (go figure?). I was so cross with my self. Then the guys on here gave me the moral boost l needed. The next time l went out, l completed my run with a flourish at the end lol. Don’t lose heart, it was a practice run. Next time you’ll complete it. We’re all allowed to have an off day/run

It took me a week and a half to get through W7....just one of those weeks! W8 is going fine thus far...one more to go. You've got this...

Had you had enough food? You can can completely run out of gas if you’re not adequately nourished

Keep going slowly and steadily, chewing up those sessions 💪😃

I think so. I run first thing in the morning before I eat and am trying to maintain a daily 750 calorie deficit (as measured by the Fitbit app so it is allowing for the exercise) and haven’t had an issue so far. I’ve still got a way to go to get where I want with my weight 🙄 but I guess it might factor into it.

I wish I could get a 750 calories deficit! I’ve set mine to 1200 a day and still go over, hence no fat loss lol

in reply to Monica1969

Ah but I have so much more weight to lose that you Monica. I could probably lose a whole you and still only be about the right size 😋

You can see how it goes but you might need to fuel your runs if you’re struggling. Fuelling runs does become important further down the line Even a banana might help at this stage 👍

We all want to watch our weight. Eat/drink healthily and you can run well and maintain a healthy weight 👍

I’ll bear that in mind and if it continues to be a problem I’ll give the banana a go. Thank you
