I've never ran before and now on week 4, but I cannot seem to run for the full 5 minutes, any suggestions? I think I'll be on this week for more than three runs

Are you going too fast? Running into the wind? Ending the 5 minutes on a hill?
Plenty of hills! I'll try another route, cheers
I'm running along the canal for this run! Didn't want to push attempting 5 minutes and uphill too!!
Slow down. Most folks go too quick and then have trouble finishing the session. Easing right back, relaxing and having enough puff to complete each bit should make things less frenetic. More fun too!
It's not a race or anything so chill out a bit and have fun with it. Good luck
Slow down. Also try a new route, it's easier when you have new scenery, partly because it's more interesting, partly because you don't run past the places you walked last time.
Slow and steady, as everyone will tell you.. avoid hills wherever and whenever possible.. They sneak up on you when you are tired
Focus and really go for it but in a calm way.. think of things to take your mind off the 5 minute mark.. sing songs in your head,, recite poetry..just enjoy the journey.. you have nothing to prove.. you are out there.. doing it!
You don't say what is stopping you, but if it is just running out of steam, then do as others say, slow down. You may be traveling at a speed that does not equate to running in your book, but don't worry, you will still build up your stamina and speed will develop later.
I found I was struggling with the last 5 min run. So slowed right down on all my runs. It worked. Like Laura had warned I was waring myself out before the end. So try going slower, I know it feels wrong and weird but it works. You can speed up later.
Also try to find a flatter route, even if it means going up and down the same bit. I too had to do this. Bare with it, you'll do it
Thanks for all your replies, will definitely take them on board
