I'm sorry Hiddengem. I get motivation dips too. They're rubbish. If it helps, try and use a different mental strategy to one you normally would. I talk to myself and imagine my gremlin is a stroppy teenager but I'm laughing as I drag them round coz I know they'll actually enjoy it once it's done. Or try a commentary on your prep and select a style. I'd go with angry i.e. "Oh, so you've put a trainer on, whoopy do, suppose you think your Paula bl**dy Radcliffe! What?!, the other trainer?! Now you're just mental. As long as you don't stand up and look for headphones. Oh you did, you DID!!" etc etc. Do it out load and give your family/pets a giggle at your madness, ha!!

Either way, whatever you do, have a good run. You'll feel better the other side of the wall 👍😂😆

Just get out there and do it, then it's out of the way and you can crack on

Gremlins don't exist. Forget em 😄

Come on HiddenGem you can do this!

Decide on when you will next run.

Choose a new, pretty route....flat if you can.

Purposely eat well and hydrate well the day before.

Get your kit ready, put it on!

Then just get out there! Your audience awaits you!

You have done so well and are ready for the next run distance. Remember the reason you started and how different you now feel.

The one thing that always gets me out is........there are people who would love to run but are not well enough to do so. I can so I do.

Go go go, we await your update Runner!

I actually ran for 29.5 mins instead of the 28 As I was enjoying myself so much x

I hit a brick wall during week five and what I done to help myself was to change the scenery so I was looking at new beautiful views when I was running rather than the same view constantly!! I prefer running by the water and it's even better when my town gets cruise ships in it really helps me!! Hope this helps

You could give yourself a few days rest. Then get your kit on and just go out for a walk. From walks do runs grow.....🏃🏃🏃

Simple: Kit on. Shoes on. Out the door.

Ask yourself whether it feels better to go to bed thinking that you've run, or contemplating the fact that you didn't.

Otherwise, a good visualisation technique: Do a Doc and Marty trip back to visit your W1R1 self, and explain that you are now at week 8, can run for more than 20 minutes without keeling over, but don't feel like doing the six remaining runs. Then watch your W1R1 self chase you out the door with a baseball bat.

well done, I will watch later after work! Could you start tomorrow, perhaps you are just really tired? It is hard and you are doing brilliantly, well done

You have to just go - a few minutes in you will be glad you are doing it. Good luck.

Well done you. I'm in a similar situation. Feel a bit stuck with the program. So good to see everyone being so encouraging here. Good luck with your last few runs to graduation!

Didn't feel like getting up for work this morning... but I did - why?..

because I have to. In order to be able to afford the things I both need and want.

Same reason applies to going for a run. My fitness and general well-being requires me to put the work in - whether I like it or not.

As nike said - Just do it!
