Was so looking forward to running tonight and as recommended started off at a steady pace so as not to burn myself out. Everything was feeling good until the final 5 minutes...... DAMN that seemed to last forever!!!
I know it is stamina building so I pushed myself through to the end, but my head was screaming all excuses under the sun to stop
So do I need to start out even slower at the beginning or do I just trust my fitness and try again at the same sort of pace for run 2 ??
Thanks Everyone for listening to my moans and groans

Maybe run slower, in theory you should be able run longer by adjusting the pace. If you've anything left in the last minute of the final run, push it then
I can't pretend to be an expert, but I have a set pattern to try and manage pace off the line and not go too fast early on. And it breaks up a run for me.
Quarter 1 - As slow as possible, just get moving
Quarter 2 - Find the rhythm, steady pace
Quarter 3 - If feeling OK push 5-10% - fastest quarter here
Quarter 4 - Just bring it home.
For me this helps to not go too fast early on - I do find if I push early on I will find the end of the run more difficult. It may or may not be of use to you, but I hope you find a solution that works for you.
Hey norabzil!! You’re doing really well here!! Just so you know. 😉! You might have had stop coming at you, but you didn’t and you know what to adjust for next time. Every single run is a win!! You did it! Remember these are recovery runs. You’re well on your way now! Well done. 😍❤️
That’s a great demonstration of mental fortitude right there... if got tough the gremlins were hard at work telling you to stop. And then you just kept running. Good job.
Try and keep it at conversational pace the whole way to the last minute... then go.
