I was really worried about running today as I haven't run since Thursday. I was contemplating redoing week 3 and I was frustrated as I hadn't been able to find half an hour since Thursday. I decided to try W4R1 and if I couldn't do it redo week 3 but here we are. I did it!!! It was hard but I completed easier than I imagined! I have also found a beautiful new running spot which is literally the 5 minute warm up walk from my house (see picture). I am feeling the best I have ever felt after a run. So proud of myself!!

Nice flat grass... my perfect running environment! Good find.

Great run... later on a week or even two off is no problem but earlier in the programme it’s hard to trust that. Very well done out there today.

Thank you! I'm so relieved, I was worried about the time off and especially unplanned time off. I wanted to be running but it was one thing after another for a few days!! Good to know I can get back to it!

Yeah and it’s probably a good thing that you had that happen early in your running, you can stay confident next time life bites your ass!

Yes and now I can see it as a learning curve. I doubt my body more than I should!

Oh yes... relax the mind, meditation maybe, and build that inner focus and belief... that helps hugely.

Well done for sticking with it. A few days off occasionally will allow your body to recover and repair, so you'll find yourself stronger than you'd expect. You can't do it too frequently though, or you'll find yourself back on the couch.

Yes and I don't want to do that. I have been sad and frustrated to miss the runs so I feel relieved that I can pick it back up!

Good for you Hattie! Good to know you don't lose it that quickly 👍

and awesome running spot too - you can go on for miles! (...and probably will do too!)

Well done Hattie27, do you run on a combination of grass and road?

Hattie27 profile image
Hattie27Graduate in reply toMonica1969

Yes although mainly it is grass! Tomorrow I will be running on wet sand just to mix it up!

I wish I could find somewhere not too secluded that I could run on grass, the road really hurts my shins.

Oh wow, wet sand is different lol

I am really lucky because all the runs are the 5 minute warm up walk from my house and I work opposite the sea front in a different town so it's easy for me to find beautiful places to run where I might bump into a dog walker or 2 but nothing more!

Oh that’s really lucky..!!! There is lovely grassed areas but they are woods so not to keen to go there on my own at 5:30am lol

Oh no that doesn't sound like a good idea at all. So do you do road running?
