Starting to run

After having a bit of a scare with high blood pressure the fab nurse at my surgery prescribed 12 sessions at slimming world as a start to making some lifestyle changes. I didn't want to go on medication if there was an alternative.

I am 2 stone lighter and continue with slimming world as a paying customer. My BP is normal again and I have signed up to do the NHS couch to 5k with a view to running a 5k in Carlisle in January.

Wish me luck as I have never been a runner 😊

Good luck but you won’t need it just determination

You need mental strength, not luck. You’ve lost 2 stones, so you must have that strength... well done.

Follow all the guidelines, don’t go too fast, there’s no such thing as too slow.

January 5k gives you more than enough time to be ready.

Welcome and enjoy.

Hi. None of us are when we start the programme fresh from the couch. We are now though 💪👍😃🏃‍♀️🐕

Go slowly through the programme. No hurry, no rush, no pressure. Have fun 🙂
