Well done Sarah, I have just completed day 2 of week 1. I have always been a couch potato so this is something I have NEVER done but I am actually enjoying it ๐
Thank you - and well done to you too! Iโve been โthinking about runningโ for about 5 years! Just not got up and done it. Now Iโve done the first run I feel like Iโve got over the first hurdle.
I would say trainers and maybe socks. The right trainers for you will help with preventing aches and injuries. I'd go to a good running shop that will do a gait analysis and then recommend a pair. Make sure you try them as sizes are very often smaller than regular shoes and you'll probably need to go up at least a half, sometimes as much as 2 whole sizes.

Enjoy becoming a runner ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
Iโve been walking on average about 8k a day over the last 4 weeks to prepare myself for running - not sure if thatโs helped or not! Running so so different and I get out of breath really quickly.
This forum is really good though. I do have a lot of friends who are runners but theyโre so much more experienced than I am but here I can find people at the same level as me.
Brilliant well done. I always find the first few minutes running tough as I think your lungs and heart need to adjust, after that I get in to a rythm. So keep going past the first couple of weeks and there'll be no stopping you!
It was tough... I did it at 6am today and my legs hurt already!
Iโm powering through though ๐
Well done on getting out there and starting this amazing program ...
I am with sparkyjohn and say the same could be socks and or running shoes, definitely worth investing in some good running shoes and running socks ..
Try Compeed plasters for your blisters to help with those ..
You will find lots of support and advise here so keep posting and most important of all enjoy then program , it really does work , good luck with all your runs ๐
